Within the area of Geo materials and Infrastructure Systems, the doors are open for those who want to do research at the undergraduate, master’s and doctorate (PhD) levels. Below you will find an overview of the opportunities available.
Undergraduate students can usually participate during their geomaterials and infrastructure systems classes in the research group laboratories and contribute to this discipline during their degree project.
The master’s degree in Civil Engineering is a program of academic excellence aimed at civil, environmental and industrial engineers, as well as professionals from other branches of engineering and related careers, such as architecture and geosciences.
It seeks to train high-level professionals and researchers who can perform as leaders in teaching and research, or in professional activity, in the public or private sector, in the specific areas of civil engineering.
Aimed at acquiring the skills and abilities to carry out quality scientific research. There are continuously places for the Doctorate in engineering in the area of Geomaterials and Infrastructure Systems. The research topic is defined by mutual agreement between the advisor and the student, almost always within the research topics of the group. The engineering faculty seeks to link students who are motivated, creative, independent, innovative and willing to explore new ideas.
Engineer of any discipline, mathematical or physical, with an interest or experience in probability and statistics. Experience or interest in research in civil engineering areas, as well as programming and / or data analytics. The candidate must have a master’s degree (MSc.), Or have the degree planned before starting the program. Additionally, an intermediate level of English is desirable.
There are alternatives for total or partial financing of the doctoral program (for example, first year / enrollment). Before entering the program, the financing strategy must be defined; however, having secured financing facilitates the admission process.
